Are you looking for an aquatic career pathway? Consider the Gateway Aquatics [Industry Training] programme.  WAI Gateway 2016

  • Structured workplace learning to senior students through formalised learning arrangements in the workplace.
  • Helps develop the relationships between students, aquatic industry organisations, and potential employers.
  • Enables students to make significant progress toward qualifications in their chosen careers while still at school.

  • Offers a pathway towards either the Pool Lifeguard Practicing Certificate (PLPC) or the Swim Teacher Award.
  • Offers the First Training ‘First Aid’ certification.
  • Provides hands-on skills and knowledge essential to the aquatics industry, assessed to industry and educational Unit or Achievement Standards.

  • Provides aquatic providers with qualified employees who will be able to fit comfortably in to the workplace setting and begin working with pool operators, staff and patrons.

Gateway Aquatics 2018 has three intakes: Term 2 (starts 10 May); July school holidays (starts 16 July); and  Term 3 (starts 2 August). Full details can be found in the schedules attached to this page [Related Files].
