The aim of the Rainbow System is the safe supervision of students in water during periods of free swim and other water-based group activities.
The Rainbow System is an integral part of these guidelines and the safety management strategies that must be in place as the practical implementation of a school's WaterSafe Policy.
It overviews:
- leadership of experienced personnel;
- appropriate and sequential activities;
- allocating and colour coding students;
- recognising signs of distress;
- student responsibility; and
- the need for a planned and practiced emergency system
