Schools face many challenges when it comes to the delivery of aquatic education, including the cost of transport, pool entry and lack of public pool space, together with the closure of old school pools.
Pools2Schools™ is an innovative and effective portable pool system that can be installed in schools without pools, helping to overcome some of these challenges. but it's not just about the pool.
Pools2Schools™ offers a multi-dimensional aquatic education programme, including teacher professional development, poolside delivery support, and provision of classroom resources which are transferable to practical pool sessions.
Pools2Schools™ follows a sequential pathway from aquatic confidence, learning swimming and survival skills to developing cirtical thinking, allowing schools to meet the needs of the New Zealand Curriculum. Practical sessions are delivered within a school's own pool and for those without a pool WAI brings in the Pools2Schools portable pool system.
This holistic approach to aquatic education is a proven pathway for students - improving learning outcomes across skills, knowledge and critical thinking.
Pools2Schools™ delivers to selected shcools within the Tamaki Cluster, made possible by funding from the Regional Partnership Fund, via Sport Auckland, as part of SPARC's Kiwisport initiative aimed at involving more children, providing more opportunities and developing better skills.
