Student Task Sheets

These task sheets are intended to provide support for you [the teacher] in integrating aquatics education into your students' literacy and numeracy programme.  They may be used for shared, guided or independent reading.

They are not intended to be used as 'one off' activities. Rather, they are most effective in supporting student learning when used to enhance the relevance of new learning, facilitate shared learning, make connections to prior learning, provide sufficient opportunities to learn or encourage reflective thinking.

Please also check out Teachers' Toolbox where you'll find more task sheets, inclusing Ready to Read, Junior Journal and School Journal. The associated stories may be used as the catalyst to provide your students with opportunities for speaking, writing or presenting to an audience. Furthermore, the study of these stories will enable students to explore and develop the language associated with aquatics. These may also be used as a prompt to develop learning inquiry with students.
