Submissions are now open on the Government’s review of the Fencing of Swimming Pools Act 1987.

Compliance, clarity, cost, consistency…are all words commonly associated with pool fencing.

The Ministry of Business, Innovation & Enmployment has published a exambusiness exam consulation document outline proposed changes to the Act in an effort to make things simpler and workable for all parties, from pool owners to Councils.

Some of those changes include simpler and more flexible rules for new pools, exemptions for spa pools with childproof covers, retailer obligations around information purchasers of the rules and the
It exam pdf removal of other water hazards such as ponds from the rules.

We join the Ministry in inviting you to have your say and help keep our home pools a safer environment for our young children, submissions close May 10.

The consultation document and submission information is all available on the Ministry’s website http://www.dbh.govt.nz/consultingon-pools.
